Today we're introducing Shared Lists on ROSTR.

Since we launched ROSTR Lists a few weeks ago, the most common request has been a way to share them with colleagues and partners. Now you can.

Share with anyone, on or off ROSTR

With Shared Lists you can share any list privately with specific people, or publish it for anyone to follow. People who follow your list stay updated automatically as you add or remove artists, people, or companies. No more sending updated screenshots or updating spreadsheets.

Discover lists worth following

While we were testing Shared Lists internally, the most interesting thing wasn't the sharing itself. It was seeing what other people were curating. So alongside Shared Lists we're also launching a new Discover page to help you find and follow lists and profiles worth paying attention to.

Check out and follow some great lists from our launch partners including:

  • Bandsintown

  • Ellen Lu - Goldenvoice

  • Tom Windish - THE TEAM

  • Assistants vs Agents

  • Ferry Rais - CAA

  • Ryan Hambsch - Hyperion Artists

  • Kyle Lavalley - The Troubadour

  • Eric Tobin - Hopeless Records

  • Gabriela Gironas - THE TEAM

  • Katie Tucker - Sharp Edges Records

  • Mike Kaminsky - KMGMT

  • Mollie Lehman - A&R

  • Kevin Lyman - Vans Warped Tour

  • Chris Patrick - Bandsintown

  • Jordan Anderson - The Bellweather

  • Jennifer Bell - IMP Presents

Lastly, don't miss out on ROSTR curated lists here as well.

A few ideas on how to use Shared Lists

  • Internal team lists. Keep your A&R, marketing, or sync team aligned on who you're tracking, pitching, or signing.

  • Festival and tour shortlists. Share a working list with bookers, agents, or partners as it evolves.

  • Active rosters. Show partners which of your artists are open to touring, brand or other opportunities right now.

  • Curated lists for clients. Send managers, labels, or brand partners a live view of artists or companies relevant to them.

  • Public taste lists. Publish a list of artists you're championing and let the right people find you through it.

  • Research and competitive tracking. Build a list of partners, competitors, or potential hires and keep it updated for your team.

How Shared Lists work

Every list starts private. Open the share panel from any list and you can switch it to one of two sharing modes:

  • Unlisted. Anyone with the link can view the list, but it won't show up in search or on Discover. Good for sharing with specific people.

  • Public. Anyone with the link can view it, and it can appear on Discover and in search engines. Good for lists you want people to find.

You can switch between the two anytime. The link stays the same.

The first time you share a list you'll pick a ROSTR @handle. Your handle becomes part of every list URL you share, so people can see at a glance who curated it. Choose carefully, handles can't be changed later.

Anyone with the link can view a shared list without a ROSTR account. If they do have an account they can also follow it (so they're notified when you make changes), save their own editable copy, or click into any profile on the list.

Shared Lists are live today for all ROSTR Pro users. If you build something cool, send it our way. We'd love to feature it.

New

One of the most common feature requests we hear from ROSTR users is being able to create custom lists. Now, the time is here - we've rolled out the ability for any user, Free or Pro, to create a list containing any artist, company or person.

You found the right managers, you're building an A&R target list or you want to keep track of every booking agent who actually responds to your emails. Until now, that meant having multiple profile tabs open, copying names into a spreadsheet, a notes app, or just relying on memory.

Not anymore - Lists are now live on ROSTR.

You can create a list for anything - here are a few ways people are already using them:

  • A&R teams building target artist lists

  • Managers tracking which agents to work with

  • Promoters organizing talent across multiple shows or festivals

  • People to meet up with on your next business trip

  • Invites for your next industry mixer

  • Tour support candidates

Lists live in your Following tab, so everything you care about is in one place.

We're in the process of making ROSTR even more personalized, and this is one of our first steps.

Create your first list now.

New

Rebuilt and redesigned

A ground-up rebuild with a redesigned interface, faster performance, and an entirely new technology foundation that will allow us to build and ship new stuff faster than ever. And of course dark mode (fear not, light mode is there if you prefer it).

All-in-one intelligence dashboard

ROSTR 2.0 brings all of our products together for the first time: Contacts, Directories, Charts, Jobs, News, Services, and more. Now, alongside searching for artists or tracking signings, you can read the news, browse jobs, or find the latest industry services — all without leaving the platform.

Supercharged artist profiles

The about tab on artist profiles has gotten a major upgrade. For 15,000+ of the most popular artists on ROSTR, you'll now see much more detail, including in-depth bios written for industry professionals and a revamped Audience section (formerly Insights). Watch out for more data like this coming to the platform soon.

More advanced directories

For ROSTR 2.0 we've split the "Discover" tool out into Directories. We've also completely rebuilt the artists, companies, tour, and festival directories and introduced a new signings directory. Tip: check out the grid view on directories for a new way to browse on ROSTR.

ROSTR Jobs, refreshed

Jobs by ROSTR proved hugely popular so we're bringing it into ROSTR as just ROSTR Jobs. We've also given it a refresh with easier navigation, additional data, split view and better location search. We're still migrating some functionality but watch out for more coming soon.

Stack is now ROSTR Services

Our listings product Stack by ROSTR is now ROSTR Services – a Yelp-like collection of thousands of businesses, tools and services across the music industry ecosystem. Browse by category or check out our collection of curated lists.

There are a few other surprises we hope you'll discover as you click around, as well as quite a few things still in the oven. With anything new, we also expect some bugs and some things you don't like. If you have thoughts, questions, or want to report a bug, we have a brand new feedback board.

We still have two plans — Free and Pro. Free allows you to use most of ROSTR with some limitations. Jobs, News, and Services are unlimited. Pro gives you unlimited access to profiles plus other benefits. More here.

ROSTR 2.0 is available to everyone today. I hope you love it.
